Dan Chiorean joined the law firm of Odom & Des Roches, LLC in March, 2014.
Mr. Chiorean’s practice is focused on antitrust class action litigation, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry, where he has represented clients in numerous antitrust disputes, as well as co-authored multiple successful briefs before various federal appellate courts. His practice often involves pursuing multi-billion dollar antitrust actions against the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Many of these cases are litigated up to the moment of trial or into trial prior to resolution. A brief list of representative cases includes:

Mr. Chiorean has broad litigation experience in antitrust, Hatch-Waxman litigation, intellectual property, commercial disputes, criminal investigations and defense, and other complex commercial litigation matters, as well as deep FDA regulatory knowledge as it pertains to filing and maintaining applications for new drugs and their generic equivalents. Mr. Chiorean has also represented clients who were under investigation or prosecuted by the Department of Justice or the Securities and Exchange Commission. He served as part of the defense trial team representing former NOPD officer David Warren in the Katrina-related shooting case, United States v. David Warren, et al., obtaining a Not Guilty verdict in the highly publicized retrial in December 2013.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Chiorean gained valuable experience as a Project Manager in the automotive interiors industry as well as the interactive digital marketing industry. At ePrize (now part of Merkle), Mr. Chiorean worked with some of the world’s largest brands and developed complex multinational interactive marketing initiatives. At Lear, Mr. Chiorean successfully managed the launch of several multimillion-dollar instrument panel cockpit assembly lines for GM, Ford, and Chrysler, gaining significant Six Sigma and Lean experience and training.
Outside of work, Mr. Chiorean donates his time to several nonprofit organizations, including Evacuteer.org. He serves on the executive leadership team of the University of Michigan Alumni Association’s New Orleans chapter as well as alumnus liaison for The Mountain School of Milton Academy. Mr. Chiorean also serves as visiting practitioner faculty at Tulane University Law School, where he teaches in the Trial Advocacy program. Further, he is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association.
Mr. Chiorean was born in Romania, and immigrated to the United States as a young child. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School, where he served as member of the Moot Court Board and, together with his team, won the 2011 Louisiana State Bar Association Trial Competition.
